We went to see the exhibition called Bodies: The Universe Within last night. Very interesting. There were some parts that were very odd to me, like a man holding his own skin on a hanger-that I found a little offensive, but overall it was very educational. I enjoyed some of the cases on the sides where they showed you a diseased organ and a healthy one. My favorite comparison was a healthy brain and a brain that had suffered a stroke. It is amazing the layers of the Human Body. It made me marvel at the divine creation of me, and made me think of my growing children in a new light. I had never seen a medical cadaver before, so this was my first experience with seeing muscles and things of that sort. I also thought seeing the circulatory system was really neat, it was so delicate and intricate. We had appetizers before, and that was a risky thing to do. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about it morally. I kept thinking of the families of these men and women, and I wish I knew that they knew where the remains of their loved ones ended up, and that being on display was something that the individual wanted. They don't say much about it, and there was a dateline show that raised some questions for me. Has anyone else seen a similar exhibition, what did you think?

We tried to when we were in Cincinnati but never actually got in.

I have looked at cadavers here at BYU's labs though. I think that the families learn to accept that person's decision to donate their body to science.

I think it is, in ways, like being an organ donor. Some of your body is being used somewhere else to help someone else.
