MY BRAND NEW BIKE!

Lucas got a new bike. We got his first one two years ago, and little did we know that it was so heavy he wouldn't be able to pedal it up a hill. He learned, nevertheless, to make it go (but it's probably a good thing he couldn't go very fast. The seat post didn't raise up and his legs got too long, so we went to the bike store (after a lot of research). Here he is. He is very proud of his new bike. He has learned not to look around while going fast because he ends up crashing. No broken bones yet, and my fingers are so very crossed. We are very pleased with how well he is doing with some better equipment. He has gotten so good, I have to ride my bike to keep up with him on bike rides. I am so proud, hopefully he can come with me on short runs in a year or so.

We are on our way to the Church for Humanitarian aide, and Lucas was singing a son while he was riding. He was pretty cautious this day because he had crashed a couple of times the day before. There are usually a couple of dogs that bark a lot that live at the house we were passing. I think he was waiting to see if they would come so he could race them.

My baby has taken off! It is really fun to watch him crawl around to get to the things he wants most. We have to keep all shoes and wires out of his way because those are the things he wants most. And of course my carpets get carefully vaccuumed, he can find ANYTHING.

We have been having severe thunderstorm warnings everynight for the past three days. The clouds are amazing here in Kansas. There was a really cool head cloud I got a picture of the other day. It is really fun to sit on the porch and watch the storms roll in, then go inside when they start getting too wet. Our garden is taking off and loving all the rain too. Our raspberries are getting almost to the size of a quarter in lenght. I am sure the blackberries will be huge too.
In general news we are doign well today. Lucas had the stomach bug yesterday, and so he had to spend the day being cuddled by Mom while cuddling a pot. It is so hard to see your kids sick. I did have a chance to get my laundry folded and the house picked up a little. No one else has it yet, so we a crossing our fingers.

Crazy busy

LIfe has been so super busy lately. Here is what we have been up to.

I ran at Riverfest and set a new personal record in a 10K for myself.

Our dear friends the Bastians left and moved to Las Vegas for their first post-school job, leaving Lucas and I slightly depressed.

Erin aka the big ditcher ;) , Kristen and Me and James.

The little buddies. Lucas bawled when the moving truck pulled away. He askes about Raegan all the time. We can't wait until we get to see them again.
My little boys have been learning to play together and not fight, which is quite an adventure for us all.
James has started to crawl, and that is always makes life a bit more fun.
